Well Water? Be your Home’s Health Hero!
Ah, well water — straight from the earth, fresh and natural… and healthy? Well. Maybe not. Sometimes, nasty stuff like bacteria (looking at you, E. coli) sneak in from septic systems or nearby animal poop. Then there are nitrates — fertilizer leftovers that love to dive underground and end up in your glass. Lead might also join the mix if your plumbing is old enough to remember disco. Pesticides? Yep, they can also filter down into your well. And let’s not forget arsenic.
Unfortunately, these contaminants aren't just gross — many can cause serious health issues, and some are even cancer-causing.
While the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) keeps a watchful eye on public water systems, private wells serving fewer than 25 people are pretty much left to fend for themselves. That means it’s up to you to be the hero: test your well water at least once a year, or more often if it starts tasting funky, smelling weird, or turning suspicious colors.
Or — hear us out — we could install a Purified Home Water System for you! It kicks all of those contaminants to the curb and then some, as long as you keep up with regular filter changes, (and we will do that for you). That way, your water stays clear and clean. And you are your family's health hero.
